First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives: The stability of global energy needs Iraq's role and the Baghdad International Energy Forum embodies this fact

The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen al-Mandalawi, stressed that Iraq represents a key pillar in ensuring the stability of global energy markets, pointing out that the Baghdad International Energy Forum, which kicks off next Saturday, is a strategic platform to consolidate this pivotal role.

"Iraq, with its vast resources and unique geographical location, is able to be the main guarantor of the stability of oil and gas markets, as well as its contribution to shaping the future of renewable energy," Mandalawi said in a letter to the organizers of the Baghdad International Energy Forum, noting that the forum "embodies Iraq's commitment to open up to the world, attract investments, and strengthen international partnerships in a vital sector that affects the lives of people and the economy of countries."

"From Baghdad, a clear message is sent to the world that Iraq is not just a source of energy, but a key player in shaping its future in the interest of the country, the region and the world," Mandalawi concluded.

The Baghdad International Energy Forum will kick off on September 6 and 7, organized by Ghadan Risk Management in partnership with the Ministry of Oil, the Oil Marketing Company (SOMO), the Central Bank of Iraq and the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shi'a Al-Sudani.

The forum will be attended by OPEC energy ministers, major companies operating in the energy sector, as well as experts and specialists in the field from inside and outside Iraq.
