Dr. Abbas Radi, President of Ghadan Risk Management Foundation: Baghdad regains its global energy role through the Baghdad International Energy Forum
Dr. Abbas Radhi, Director of Ghadan Risk Management, said that Baghdad is being restored today as an international dialogue platform to discuss the most prominent risks facing the world, primarily the challenges of oil, sustainable investment, and its environmental and climate impacts.
He pointed out at a press conference that the holding of the Baghdad International Energy Forum represents the return of the Iraqi capital to its historical role, after it was 65 years ago the cradle of the founding of OPEC.
He added that the forum seeks to formulate practical solutions through policy papers that will be submitted to OPEC, the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Oil to address technological and environmental risks and develop effective strategies for the future of energy.
"The forum is based on the belief that oil represents a complex challenge for the world, whether in its exploitation, ensuring its continued utilization, or confronting its negative effects on the environment and climate," said the president of Ghadan Risk Management Foundation (GRMF), who said that the forum is based on the conviction that oil represents a complex challenge for the world.
He emphasized that technological and environmental risks will be at the forefront of the discussion, along with issues related to energy transitions.
He added that the active presence of international oil and energy companies, along with official institutions in producing countries, is an opportunity to formulate practical policy papers to be submitted to OPEC and the current and future Iraqi government, as well as the Ministry of Oil, in order to develop realistic solutions to current and future challenges.
The forum was attended by international oil and energy companies and government organizations, with the aim of providing insights and viable solutions.
The recommendations will be presented in the form of policy papers to OPEC, the current and future Iraqi government and the Ministry of Oil in order to develop practical strategies to address the challenges and risks in this vital sector.
