Al-Araji: Risk governance is a strategic necessity to face the repercussions of regional crises in Iraq
Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassim al-Araji said that risk management has become a strategic necessity for institutions in Iraq in light of the rapid developments in the region and the multidimensional challenges it poses.
And in a post on the X platform, Al-Araji said that the current regional conditions impose economic, security and political pressures that may directly reflect on the stability of institutions and the continuity of their business, which requires adopting more effective approaches to risk management.
And these developments have already affected a number of vital sectors, including energy markets, trade and investment, as well as supply chains, reinforcing the need to develop advanced risk management systems based on early forecasting and threat analysis.
He pointed to the importance of developing flexible response plans capable of reducing the potential repercussions of crises, stressing that risk governance has become an essential tool to support decision-making and enhance institutional stability.
Al Araji stressed that raising the readiness of institutions to face challenges contributes to achieving sustainability and maintaining performance, especially in light of a complex regional environment characterized by escalating risks and uncertainty.
