Iraq resumes oil exports via Ceyhan ahead of Baghdad International Energy Forum

Iraq has resumed its oil exports through the Turkish Ceyhan pipeline at a rate of 80,000 barrels per day in the first phase, after reaching an agreement with the Kurdistan Region, in a move that comes ahead of the Baghdad International Energy Forum, scheduled for September 6-7.

Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani said the move will contribute to strengthening Iraq's position as a strategic energy center in the region, stressing Baghdad's commitment to fulfill its commitments in global markets. He also noted the ministry's success in raising the production of the wet oil plant north of Kirkuk by 25,600 barrels per day, bringing its total production capacity to 90,000 barrels per day.

The Baghdad International Energy Forum will witness the participation of senior decision makers from the global energy sector, including representatives from BP, Total Energy, Chevron, Eni and Shell, as well as energy ministers and international experts, to discuss vital issues including oil market dynamics, energy security, the shift towards renewable sources, and sustainability.

The Ministry of Oil believes that this high-level participation reflects the growing confidence in the Iraqi oil sector and the promising investment opportunities it offers.
