The Ministry of Oil confirmed that the Baghdad International Energy Forum, scheduled to be held in the capital Baghdad on September 6 and 7, will witness the participation of the Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haitham Al-Ghais, in the opening speech of the forum, and a number of energy ministers from brotherly and friendly countries, senior government officials, as well as experts and specialists in the fields of energy, oil and economy.
The forum will be organized under the auspices of the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) and will be attended by executives from leading international oil and energy companies, including companies operating inside Iraq and companies interested in expanding their investment partnerships in the Iraqi market.
This high-level participation reflects the growing importance of Iraq as a pivotal player in the international energy market, and the keenness of OPEC and producing and consuming countries to enhance dialogue and coordination in light of the geopolitical and economic changes affecting the oil and energy markets.
The forum is a strategic platform to discuss energy security, sustainability, and energy transition through a series of panel discussions and workshops that bring together decision-makers, business representatives, and international experts.
The Ministry of Oil emphasizes that the Baghdad International Energy Forum, sponsored by SOMO and with the participation of this elite group of international leaders, embodies the policy of openness and cooperation pursued by the Iraqi government, and strengthens Iraq's position in the international arena as a reliable and influential partner in the regional and global energy future.
