Ghadan Risk Management Institute Warns of Rising Cyber Fraud Operations via Telegram
Awareness Statement
Ghadan Risk Management Foundation
Ghadan Risk Management Foundation warns Iraqi citizens of the increasing attempts of electronic fraud through the application of Telegram", by sending fake links claiming to provide services, prizes, or security updates, with the aim of stealing personal data or hijacking accounts and hacking devices."
The Foundation recommends the following:
- Do not click on any anonymous or untrusted link.
- Do not share passwords, verification codes (OTP) or any personal information via links in messages.
- Ensure that messages and information are correct through official websites and channels only.
- Delete suspicious messages and report them immediately.
- Two-Factor Authentication to enhance account protection.
And the Foundation confirms that digital prevention begins with awareness and caution, as interacting with a fake link may lead to the loss of accounts, leak of personal and financial data or exposing devices to hacking.
Therefore, we call on everyone to be cautious and not to interact with any unknown links, no matter how convincing or named official bodies.
