OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al-Ghais received an official invitation to participate in the Baghdad International Energy Forum, which the Iraqi capital is preparing to host on September 6, 2025, as one of the most prominent international events on the map of the energy industry in the region.

Al-Ghais confirmed his full readiness to attend and participate in the forum, which is being held under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shi'a Al-Soudani, with the participation of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, Ghada Risk Management and the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, as well as the strategic sponsorship of the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO).

The forum's organizing committee is in the process of extending official invitations to energy and oil ministers from 12 countries, as well as senior executives from international oil companies and a host of international energy experts and researchers.

The forum will discuss strategic issues including environmental sustainability, technological innovation, global market shifts, regional challenges related to energy security, and the future of renewable energy and natural gas in the region.
